Who presents on the podcast?

Leeds, That! is presented by James Weller and Rocco Dean. James is a lifelong Leeds fan who started a Twitter account back in 2016 and set up the podcast in 2019 alongside Matthew, Andy and Paul; he handles production, editing and the website. Rocco is a passionate Leeds United fanatic who started writing during the 2020 lockdown — much of it on Marcelo Bielsa's impact on the team — has authored four books, and joined the podcast in 2021, known for capturing both the emotional and tactical sides of the game.

What is 'doing a Leeds'?

The phrase comes from Leeds United's financial collapse in the early 2000s. Huge debts, taken on chasing Champions League football, led to meltdown when the club stopped qualifying for those competitions — and Leeds tumbled all the way to the third tier. 'Doing a Leeds' now describes the dire consequences of financial mismanagement at a football club. Portsmouth, Wolves and Luton have all been through their own versions, and you'll hear spin-offs like 'doing a Bradford' applied elsewhere.

What is TOMA?

TOMA is short for 'Take Over, My Arse!' — Leeds fans' shorthand for scepticism about any takeover news. It originated on the WACCOE messageboard and became a stock response to takeover rumours during the Ken Bates era. Fans still trot it out today whenever a takeover is being talked up.
